A Guide to Pairing Skincare products

When your using skincare products you try to get the best results for a glowing healthy
skin.
Lets look into these products and pair them together the right way!

Which products can we pair together?

Cleansers and Exfoliants

When shopping for cleansers and exfoliants you can pair a gentle cleanser with a
chemical exfoliant. However, you should avoid pairing a scrub with a chemical exfoliant
because it will be harsh on your skin.

Vitamin c and Sunscreen

You are probably confused if its okay to mix these two together since its summer time!
The answer is its totally okay to pair vitamin c and sunscreen.

The right way of application is applying vitamin c and then your spf sunscreen.
This way you would be getting dual effects of uv protection and a bright skin.

Hyaluronic acid and Moisturizer

If you are already using hyaluronic acid as part of your routine, apply it on a damp skin
and afterwards use the moisturizer to help lock in hydration.

Retinol and Moisturizer

Retinol can cause irritation sometimes so for a better practice its recommended to apply
the moisturizer after retinol to reduce its irritational effects.

Niacinamide and vitamin c

These two power products can be used in the same skincare routine, with the
niacinamide’s effect you will get calmer skin and a brighter tone thanks to the vitamin c.

Which products should we avoid pairing together?

When applying skincare products to your face its important to know which products
work good together and which don’t. Let’s see which of these products are to be
avoided:

Retinol and benzoyl peroxide

It is useless to pair these products together because they deactivate each others effect.

Retinol and chemical exfoliants

Avoid using these two together during the same night because they will irritate your
skin. If you are following a skincare routine that requires using both of these ingredients,
you can alternate between them through nights.

Vitamin c and Chemical Exfoliants

Vit c and Chemical exfoliants are both acidic ingredients, which means using both at the
same time can disrupt your skin’s ph levels which leads to redness and irritations.

If you need both for your skins health then its best to apply vitamin c in the morning and
the chemical exfoliant during the evening.

Start Your Skincare Journey Carefully!

If you are still new in the skincare world, it’s better to start simple with the basic
ingredients then add active ingredients. This way you can patch test and look for results
to find out what works for you and what doesn’t before adding strong ingredients to the
routine.
